Many thanks to Pacific Paradise Divers of Oahu
They enticed me with their web special, offering a Nitrox certification with the booking of five dive trips. What a great setting for a dive class! All my materials were sent early, so I completed the book before my arrival in Oahu. My reviews were conducted on the dive boat and on the sunny deck of "The Shack" (local watering hole). All my materials and the Nitrox for the dives were included.
It was great to be able to add another certification while enjoying so many great dives.
We had incredible clarity for the Corsair, and followed that with an astonishing trip to the Sea Caves. Just beyond the cathedral-like entry to the cave, a pair of Monk Seals cavorted in, out, and around the cave, oblivious to our presence. The cave opened to the surface, so the Monk Seal show was accompanied by the thunderous pounding of the surf against the cave walls. At the end of their show, we exited through the cathedral, finishing as a drift dive along the wall.
From the stern of the Sea Tiger, I was completely mesmerized by a pair of Eagle Ray, suspended in the current, holding not 20 feet in front of us.
A night dive visit to the China Wall and a nearby reef were truly a meditative experience. The mood was relaxed as Captain Joe motored us out into the sunset, only four of us on the boat, plenty of room to stretch. A twilight tour of the wall, a warm surface interval as the final glow of the sun disappeared, and an amazing array of life on the reef as our lights sliced through the abyss. Motoring back to the harbor, totally blissed out from the dive, Captain Joe cranks up "Stairway to Heaven". It just doesn't get any cooler than that.
Special thanks again to Chris and Pearl, owners of Pacific Paradise Divers. Your divemasters, Mike and Josh, were professional in every regard. Thanks also for bringing along Scuba Drew, whose excellent filmwork and DVD of our final dive will help me to win more converts to our sport.
Aloha

Dear Pearl and Chris,
The attached photo was taken moments after Liz and I completed all the requirements to become PADI Open Water divers. We thought we’d share it with you.
Thanks very much for the great time and the professional manner in which you dealt with our Open Water Certification. The whole experience, from first email contact all the way through was great.
We have good memories of Hawaii and of Pacific Paradise Divers.
Best of the season

Just got back from Oahu and had a chance to dive with this outfit. Did a wreck/reef dive out of Kewalo Basin. Great crew and they use a nice boat, it was not crowded like another one we saw out there. Chris was great as was our divemaster Mike. I was going to do a second dive with them, but the conditions were less than ideal, so they called to tell me. Nice job on their part. Pearl was great and they were nice to deal with. Drinks and snacks on the boat and no pressure to dive. We maxed our bottom time and they seem like a very safe well put together outfit.
I highly recommend them.
Chris/Pearl, sorry we couldn't dive with you folks on sat, but we had family obligations. We will be back.

I don't like doing a straight-up plug but I just got back from diving for a week in Oahu and I had to recommend the shop I dove with - Pacific Paradise Divers.
I called around to a few places before hand and no one was able to guarantee me that I would be able to go to a different site on the island everyday. When I spoke to Chris (the owner) he immediately gave me a rundown of different sites he'd like to take me to so that I would get a full taste. He hooked me up on 3 different boats and always sent one of his divemasters with me - instead of just referring me to a new company. This was great b/c I got to dive with the same DM (Mike) on almost all of my dives.
Chris also has a good appreciation for the experienced diver. He keeps the group small (I was often 1 - 1 and no more than 2 other divers) and with the great vis doesn't make you stay in a line but really explore the area. He will also do some technical dives that other dive shops wouldn't do (full wreck penetration, drift diving etc.). At the same time I would have felt safe with him as a new diver. He really seems to treat people where they are at - not where is easiest for him.
The nicest thing is these guys like what they do. They enjoy dives and try to make sure you enjoy it. There was no pressured hurried feeling when you are down there; after the dives they get just as excited by that Octopus as you do.
Like I said I don't like doing a plug like this, but I did feel compelled to share my experience. When I go diving a like to find a small place to dive with that I can develop a relationship with and that is going to be willing to take me to a lot of different sites - not factory style diving.
That's Pacific Paradise Divers!

Thanks Pacific Paradise!
Chris, Mike and Pearl,
Tara and I wish to let you know how much we enjoyed our dives with Pacific Paradise in Oahu July 23-26, 2005. We have been diving for many years worldwide and your level of service was unprecedented.
Our Dive Master Mike was very professional with the proper attention to safety - all the while seeing to it that we had a great time. He went out of his way to plan our dives so that we got to see the good stuff.
I am still editing the video I shot on our dives but can say so far that the footage of the large turtles, eagle rays, eels, the strangely large nudibrach and that octopus you showed us all look great. We would enthusiastically recommend your company to anyone.

Thank-you Mike, Chris, Catherine. From Aug 15 to Aug 25 I spent 8 days and 26 dives with Pacific Paradise Divers and the worst dive was wonderful.
Over these 26 dives we went to 11 different dive sites. Even on the multiple dives at a site they made it different by how they approached the site. The groups were small and they completely put you at ease.
Catherine is a professional photographer and got great pictures of white tip reef sharks, turtles and eels. AND she gave them to me!! Thanks!!. Chris (the driving force) keep what you are creating going. Finally, Mike you are the greatest. Thanks for showing me some many wonderful things and for helping me on my buoyancy.
The penetration of the Sea Tiger, the 2 drift dive and Shark's Cove were all top shelf. Any one diving on Oahu could not ask for a better company to do business with. I will see you all this coming April. Aloha

Hello again Pearl,
Just wanted to let you know that I had a great time diving with both Chris and Mike. I haven't got my pics developed yet but as soon as I do, rest assured y'all will get copies of the best.
Anyway I'm hoping to make another trip out in January but we'll have to see how things go. If I do make it back out I look forward to diving with Mike, Chris, and anybody else who wants to go.
Thank you so much
